  1. The Ministry of Health in Singapore, along with other government agencies, has strengthened the management measures for e-cigarettes within the country. This includes enhanced inspections at ports of entry, intensified monitoring and crackdown on online sales and advertising, and stricter enforcement against the use and possession of e-cigarettes in public places.

  2. In addition, as of March 22, 2023, Taiwan's "Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act" has been amended to classify e-cigarettes as prohibited tobacco-like products. It also places heated tobacco under controlled specified tobacco products. According to Article 15, Paragraph 1, Subparagraphs 2 and 3 of the law, no one is allowed to import tobacco-like products or their component parts, or specified tobacco products or their necessary component parts without approval from the Ministry of Health and Welfare. As of December 11, 2023, there are no specified tobacco products that have passed the review, according to information from the Health Promotion Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

  3. Due to the upcoming winter vacation and frequent travel during the holidays, please remind faculty, staff, and students of the university that if they travel to Singapore, they should comply with the local regulations on e-cigarettes. When returning to Taiwan, it is advised not to bring tobacco-like products or specified tobacco products into the country to comply with the regulations of the "Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act."
